Spring Break Dare Wheel — We Made a Chart
Every year our friend group does a spring break trip. This year was Destin, Florida. 8 guys, 1 Airbnb, and a whiteboard we stole from someone's apartment.
On night one, someone drew a dare wheel on the whiteboard. Like an actual wheel divided into sections, with a spinner made from a bottle cap and a thumbtack. Real engineering.
The tiers were:
Green Zone (Mild): Text your ex something nice. Do 20 burpees on the beach. Let the group pick your outfit for the night. Sing the national anthem at full volume on the balcony.
Yellow Zone (Medium): Wear a speedo to the hotel pool. Ask a stranger for their number using a terrible pickup line. Let someone draw something on your back in sunscreen (you find out what it is when you burn). Order the weirdest thing on the menu and eat all of it.
Red Zone (Spicy): Karaoke solo at the beach bar — song chosen by the group. Swim in the ocean at midnight. Walk into a restaurant and pretend to be a food critic. Call your mom and tell her you're engaged.
Black Zone (Nuclear): There were only two slots in this zone. One said "TBD by group vote." The other said "the thing we don't talk about." Nobody landed on black zone until day 4.
Day 4, our friend Danny spins and lands on "TBD by group vote." The group voted: Danny has to spend one full hour at the hotel pool pretending to be a European tourist named "Giancarlo" who speaks broken English and is extremely confident. He committed so hard that a family invited "Giancarlo" to dinner. He declined, but barely.
Best spring break tradition we've ever started. Already planning the V2 wheel for next year. Taking suggestions if anyone has good dare ideas.
